David Hogan

David Hogan

General Manager

David Hogan was appointed General Manager of Gordon and Gotch Australia and New Zealand (GGNZ) in March 2013. David started his career in finance in the banking sector before moving into magazine publishing at Southdown Press in 1991, just as PMP Ltd was formed.

Over his last 26 years at PMP Ltd, David has held senior roles in Operations, Circulation, Client Services, Retail and IT in both Publishing and Distribution. As a result he is highly cognisant of all stages of the magazine supply chain. He became General Manager of GGNZ in 2011.

His wealth of knowledge, market experience and vision for the Australian magazine industry is one of the finest in Australia. His enduring passion for excellence continues to drive developments at Gordon and Gotch Australia (GGA) today, so we remain best in class and offer domestic and international publishers and distributors truly multi platform distribution solutions.

Katie Ashford

Katie Ashford

Head of Marketing, Digital and Online

Katie Ashford BA (Hons), MA, MBA joined Gordon and Gotch in September 2009 and currently heads up GGA’s marketing, digital and online activities.

Prior to Gordon and Gotch, Katie worked in Marketing Director roles in the UK and developed above, below and online marketing campaigns for the US, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. She has a deep understanding of continuity magazine publishing, direct marketing, NPD, licensing and ecommerce. She has a unique perspective at the leading edge of Australasia’s digital magazine market.

Postgraduate qualifications include a Masters in International Marketing from Kingston Business School, an MBA from Australian Institute of Business and a Diploma in e-marketing from the Direct Marketing Association (UK).

Avril Holden

Avril Holden

Commercial Manager

Avril Holden is Commercial Manager for the Gordon and Gotch Australia group. She is responsible for the financial operations across Gordon and Gotch.

Avril joined GGA in January 2011 as Financial Controller for the Scribo Group before moving to the role of Financial Controller for Gordon and Gotch Australia in August 2011. She was appointed as Commercial Manager in June 2013.

Prior to joining GGA, she held various positions with the fashion group M. Webster Holdings Pty Ltd. Avril holds a bachelor's degree in Economics (Accounting) and is a Member of the Certified Practicing Accountants of Australia.

Alex Smith

Alex Smith

Head of Client and Retail Services

Alex Smith joined Gordon and Gotch in March 2011. Alex brings 20 years of experience in the magazine & newspaper industry (UK and Australia), his last role being the Group Circulation Manager for ACP Magazines, now Bauer Media (Men’s Interest & Specialist).

Alex joined Gordon and Gotch in March 2011 as Client Services Manager and was promoted to Head Of Client And Retailer Services in April 2013.

Prior to ACP Magazines Alex worked as TX Circulation Manager for Marketforce in the UK. Responsibility included managing the circulation of the largest volume consumer title What’s on TV. Alex has a proven track record of formulating and implementing publishing strategy to deliver business objectives and has been heavily involved in many successful launches.

Alex has qualifications in Business Administration.

Poppy Stamateas

Head of IT and Business Systems

Since joining Gordon and Gotch in 1997, Poppy has worked across a number of departments, including but not limited to Allocations, Client Services and Project Management, giving her extensive knowledge and experience in many areas of the business.

Currently Poppy and her team are responsible for both IT systems and the provision of a process improvement advisory and implementation service to deliver improved efficiency, simplicity and transparency across GGA business processes.

Poppy has a university degree in Mathematics, with a double major in Statistics and Operations Research.

Chris Acosta

Client Services Manager

Chris joined Gordon and Gotch in 2012 heading up the management of the International Import and Partworks business.

Prior to this Chris worked for a major UK Distributor managing key magazine publishing clients. Since joining GGA Chris has been instrumental in the renewal of major contracts as well as the implementation of GGA’s brand new allocation and reporting system. Chris’ role encompasses a wide variety of deliverables for the business through a large team of Managers and Assistants.

Chris has a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies & Marketing.

Leigh Verity

Leigh Verity

Senior Retail Channel Manager

Leigh Verity was appointed Senior Retail Channel Manager of Gordon and Gotch Australia in March 2016.

Leigh started his career in the Magazine Industry at Southdown Press in Melbourne in 1990. He has since worked across various roles within Publishing and Distribution, but always with a Circulation, Client Management and Retail focus.

Over the 27 years in the industry, Leigh has taken two breaks to further his skills in project Management at OneSteel, and more recently with Telstra where he managed two Retail Stores in NSW. Leigh understands the magazine industry end to end, and with his recent management experience of an extremely busy and competitive retail environment, he now brings a deep understanding of the key drivers and issues surrounding modern retail.

Gabriel Ladikos

Client Services Manager

Gabriel is highly respected within the magazine industry, with over 25 years magazine and media industry experience in Australia and internationally.

Gabriel has held various senior management roles in this time responsible for driving key strategies to grow circulation revenues, working alongside publishers, distributors, editors, circulation and marketing. Currently, Gabriel heads up the Client Services team and is an instrumental part of the Gordon and Gotch business development team.
